Want To Remember Better? Take A Coffee Break

Are you one of those people who take short naps after some hours of study to find that you were able to consolidate what you studied much better by taking that nap?

If so you are probably aware that sleeping helps cement memories since it lets the mind save it to the hard drive of the brain so to speak.

Now there is also the concept of a ‘Conscious Rest’, which, according to recent research may also be effective in consolidating memories and learning.

Dr Lila Davachi, an assistant professor in NYU’s Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science, observed that “Taking a coffee break after class can actually help you retain that information you just learned,” according to this Telegraph article.
