Child Obesity Worries The First Lady: Says It Is ‘Public Health Crisis’

There is growing evidence of obesity among our children and now it even has the First Lady Michelle Obama worried.

She is worried that for the first time in American history, children will have shorter lives than their parents and she linked childhood obesity to a public health crisis.

According to this report, the first lady is of the view that this is something that threatens families, children and the future of the nation. The first lady is making the right choices in her own home, by replacing sodas with water, cutting down on the burgers and reducing portion sizes.

She also pointed out a pertinent economic issue remarking that the country spends nearly $150 billion on obesity-related health issues.
