Burning Calories Quickly and Effectively

It is the holidays, and you have found yourself eating too much. You just could not seem to turn down that extra piece of homemade pie, or that extra scoop of mashed potatoes.

Now you are paying for it. Your clothes seem to be fitting just a little bit tighter than usual, and you are feeling miserable.

You are probably thinking about how to lose your excess weight. Of course, reducing your calorie intake could take care of this problem for you, but that is only half of the solution. The other half is burning calories. Burning calories effectively is not a hard thing to do.

Aerobics

Climbing stair steps during your aerobic exercise is just one option for you. Aerobic exercise will make your heart pump your blood quicker.

You will feel yourself sweating and your breathing will become quickened. This type of exercise raises the rate of your heart, thereby helping you to burn calories. Aerobic exercises of all kinds are one of the best ways to burn calories, and take off the excess weight.

Jogging

Jogging exercise is known to be one kind of exercise that will really burn the calories. When you are jogging, it is a good idea to jog toward the wind for resistance. Jogging will help you to take in more oxygen. The more oxygen you take in, the more your body will be able to burn the calories.

If you were to jog just 45 minutes, you will be burning over 400 calories. The amount of calories burned while jogging is based on how many pounds you weigh, and how many miles you have jogged.

Bike Riding

Bike riding will be a lot of fun for you. Fun is not the only thing that you will get out of bike riding though. It also burns calories. If you do not have a regular bicycle, then a stationary bicycle will also do the trick. You can burn up to 500 calories during a workout riding on a stationary bicycle.

Skiing

A cross-country skiing trip will be a wonderful vacation for you.  It is also a good way for you to burn calories. Cross-country skiing not only offers strength training for your body but one hour of cross-country skiing can burn up to 1000 calories.

This will of course vary, depending upon your weight. Weighing more burns more calories, and weighing less burns less calories. The size of your body will determine how hard you have to work while you are skiing. Working harder will burn more calories.

Swimming

Maybe it is hard for you to do a lot of regular exercise because of health or physical problems. Swimming exercise is a good way to get a workout without too much impact on your body. The water works as soft resistance while you are exercising, and it will cause you to burn calories.

Burning calories effectively can happen for you if you choose the right exercise that will bring resistance to your body and one that causes your heart to pump faster.
